Experience Ladakh, at your own pace…
They call it the land of supernatural landscapes, a terrain so vivid that keeps your eyes glued, a destination that is virtually disconnected with the rest of the world because of extreme weather conditions most of the year, yet offers solace to travelers from across the world in the few months that it is accessible. What makes it so special, you must wonder, if you’re yet to explore it.
Once upon a time, the only kind of people that walked on the land of Ladakh were yak herders. From then to now, many a tribe, dynasty and ruler have given Ladakh a bit of their own culture. Buddhist pilgrims brought with them the essence of Zen. Later on, Mughal invaders built mosques and introduced Islam on the same land. Further towards the 19th century, Sikh rule prevailed across Punjab and Kashmir and the Dogra region that Ladakh fell in came under the Rajputs, and the ancient kingdom of Ladakh was painted in yet another colour.
Having explored Ladakh for years in a row, Escape Route takes pride in having closely explored many shades of this rich land. The charm of unraveling its beauty is compared to none. Add to that the thrill of being on the road, experiencing the skylines change, facing newer challenges and overcoming them, and sharing the joy of it all with a bunch of like-minded travelers. That’s one of our most special recipes for escaping the monotony.
This year, Escape Route brings to you two thoughtful itineraries – Delhi-Ladakh-Delhi (11N/12D) & Leh-Ladakh-Leh (8N/9D). Now if you’re a road-trip enthusiast, pick the first one. But if you’re somebody who’d like to fly down to Leh and/or have a limited number of work leaves, the latter is perfect for you. Please find the details below.
